New South Wales

New South Wales is a land of diverse and colourful landscapes; from the clear blue oceans and pristine beaches, to the rich red soil of the outback, the green of tropical rainforests of the north and the white capped mountains of the snowfields in the south.

New South Wales is the fifth largest state/territory of Australia, bordered by Queensland to the north, South Australia to the west, Victoria to the south and the Tasman Sea to the east. NSW also surrounds the Australian Capital Territory in the south-eastern corner of the state. NSW is the most populous state in Australia, with a large percentage of inhabitants living near the eastern coastline.

NSW is divided into ten regions; the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Country NSW, Hunter, Lord Howe Island, North Coast, Outback NSW, Snowy Mountains, the South Coast and Sydney. The capital city of NSW is Sydney, the most populous city in Australia. Approximately two-thirds of NSW’s population live in the Greater Sydney area. Built on the shores of a sprawling harbour, Sydney is the most internationally recognisable of Australia’s cities and is also the home of some of Australia’s most photographed landmarks in the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. The city also plays host to a number of festivals and celebrations throughout the year, top rated restaurants and world class sporting events, live shows and concerts.
