Edensor Park is a suburb in Sydney, 38km west of the CBD in the local government area of the City of Fairfield. Part of the Greater Western Sydney region, it has a population of around 9,500.

History

John Brown Bossley, a Sydney chemist, came to Australia in around 1838 and built an English-styled farmhouse on land he owned near Clear Paddock Creek. He named this property Edensor House after a village near Chatsworth in Derbyshire, England. The suburb was named after the house.

Edensor Park was a rural area until the 1970s when it became a residential area.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Edensor Park is primarily a residential suburb. It is home to Edensor Park Plaza, the local shopping centre, and has two primary schools. There are also three high schools just outside the suburb. It also features a number of recreational areas and the Sydney United Sports Centre, which is home to the Croatian-backed football team, Sydney United.
