History

Weetangera is named after the property “Spring Vale”. The area has an Aboriginal name because of a spring site called “Wittanjirra”_x009d_. In the local dialect, this means “to suck, to drink greedily.”

The first modern settlers moved into the area in 1970. All streets are named after pioneers of the ACT.
