History

Scullin was named to honour James Henry Scullin, the 9th Prime Minister of Australia who was in office from 1929 to 1932. The suburb’s name was gazetted in 1968.

The streets in the suburb are named to honour famous aviators. It is located next to the suburbs of Higgins, Florey, Page, and Hawker. The Scullin neighbourhood oval and the Southern Cross Early Childhood School are located in the suburb.

The suburb is a 5-minute drive and a 20-minute walk away from the Belconnen Town Centre. It is also a 3-minute drive and a 15-minute walk away from the Hawker Shopping Centre. Canberra City is approximately a 15-minute drive from the suburb and Canberra Airport is a 30-minute drive.
