History

Woodvale is part of both the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo. Only a small, eastern section of the suburb falls under the City of Wanneroo’s jurisdiction. Previously a rural region, the suburb underwent concentrated development from 1979 to 1995.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Woodvale is home to one high school and three primary schools. All four of these opened between 1985 and 1990. Other local amenities include a library, two medical practices, and a Shopping Centre.

The suburb has a number of parks. These include Cornish Park and Trappers Park. It is also home to the Yellagonga Regional Park. The park takes its name from the leader of the Whadjuk Noongar people. It not only includes areas of wetland but also houses heritage buildings. These include the Luisini Winery and Cockman House.
