The suburb of Marangaroo in Perth is located 18km north of the City. The area has two primary schools and a golf course. It takes its name from the local Aboriginal word meaning “blue flowers” and the area has a population of over 10,500 people.

History

Vietnamese immigrants have established a strong community in the suburb and there are several Buddhist temples in the area. This has also made the area popular with those who enjoy ethnic foods. Since opening in 1988 the Marangaroo Golf Course has become one of the busiest 18 hole courses in Perth

The area has several cafes, bars, and restaurants that produce a diverse range of foods for all tastes. Along with the usual branded fast food outlets such as Kentucky Fried Chicken and others, there are some speciality outlets including Asian and vegetarian restaurants.
