History

Inglewood was built up by the Gold Estates of Australia for the gold boom of the 1890s. Inglewood has experienced two booms in residential growth. Between 1904 and 1920 housing was built for the blue-collar population. There was more development during World War Two.

The majority of residences in Inglewood are of pre-war vintage. Inglewood has a high heritage value. Many of the older dwellings have been restored to their original styles.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Inglewood’s centre has retail services, a library, and a recreation centre. The town contains an aquatic centre and golf course. Landmarks include a clock tower, which was part of a picture theatre and shopping complex.
