History

Greenwood was developed very recently, with commercial development commencing in 1969. Its name comes from Greenwood Forest, the promotional name used by the Gold Land Development Corporation during this time.

Lifestyle and entertainment

Greenwood has a small commercial and industrial area on Canham Way. This area has a butcher, tyre store, martial arts centre, a thrift shop, and more. However, the area’s main shopping centre is the Greenwood Village Shopping Centre. Located on Calectasia Street, it has a supermarket, gym, pharmacist, and eateries. Greenwood’s local pub, The Greenwood Hotel, is popular with locals and visitors, and supports Australian boxer Danny Green.
