Greenfields is a suburb in the City of Mandurah, and is located over 80km from Perth’s central business district. The suburb has a population of around 9,939, according to the 2011 census.

History

Greenfields is a relatively new suburb in Western Australia. The area got its name from ‘Greenfields Estate’, which was the promotional name used by developers for the area in the 1980s. Historically, the suburb was also known as Goegrup, and Riverside Gardens.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Greenfields has many aged care residences, as well as a large oval for sports and activities. Greenfields is home to the Goegrup Lake Nature Reserve. Visitors can also head to the neighbouring Mandurah to enjoy a day at Silver Sands beach, or a show at the Performing Arts Centre.
