Gosnells is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located 20 kilometres south-east of Perth’s central business district. It has a population of 17,277.

History

The land now known as Gosnells was first used by the Nyoongar Aboriginal people for thousands of years. In 1829, European settlers came to Gosnells and set up farms in the area.

Thanks to the gold rush in 1890, Western Australia attracted a large number of residents from interstate and overseas. As land was now high in demand, a group of developers bought the local land of the deceased Charles Gosnell who originally came from London. The suburb was then called Gosnells in after Charles 1907.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Gosnells has the use of two railway stations including Gosnells and Seaforth. It only takes around 23 minutes to get to Perth by train from the suburb. The town also has six bus routes.

In addition to good transport links, Gosnells is home to parks, reserves, libraries, skateparks, pools and cycle paths.The Don Russell Performing Arts Centre offers some excellent productions too.
