Floreat is a suburb in the Town of Cambridge, and is located around 8km from Perth’s CBD. It is the head of the local government area, and has a population of around 7,230.

History

Floreat was part of the City of Perth when it was originally built. The suburb’s name comes from a Latin word, which means to flourish or prosper, which is also the motto for the wider City of Perth. The suburb’s Perry Lakes Reserve was also home to the 12th Australian Scout Jamboree, and a statue now stands at the lakes to commemorate the occasion.

With an abundance of shopping, local parks and schools, and sporting facilities, Floreat is the perfect suburb to live and play. Floreat is home to the Western Australian Athletics Stadium, as well as the Floreat Oval, and the Bold Park Aquatic Centre, with basketball, tennis and lawn bowls facilities. Floreat’s local shopping centre, the Floreat Forum, has a wide range of eateries, supermarkets, and retailers.
