History

Ellenbrook is named after a lady called Ellen Stirling. She is the wife of Western Australia’s first governor, Captain James Stirling. The town has been built up in groups of houses that are called Woodlake Village, The Bridges, Coolamon, Malvern Springs, Annie’s Landing, Charlotte’s Vineyard, Morgan Fields and Lexia. The first home in the area was completed in 1995. These days, you can find lots of new shops being built. That said, the area already has over 100 stores and the largest Woolworths in the state.

The bus services in the suburb link Ellenbrook with Morley and Bassendean railway station. This pretty part of the country is known for its Christian, Catholic, state and private schools.
