History

Butler is a young suburb, named after John Butler in 1979. Butler was the first person known to have explored Lake Joondalup and Wanneroo. Butler was mostly bushland until the turn of the 21st century. In 2002 the Butler-Ridgewood Agreed Local Structure Plan was approved Rapid development such as this has allowed people to move into the area and enjoy everything it has to offer.

Most of Butler’s needs are serviced by Kingsbridge Boulevard, which has shops, banks, pubs, and other public services. The nearby Kingsbridge Park is a great place to relax, as is Brampton Park. Brighton Village Shopping Centre is only a short drive away.
