Bayonet Head is an outer northeastern suburb of Albany, WA. It’s located on the west bank of Oyster Harbour and has a population of 2,490.

History

The suburb was gazetted in 1981. Before this, the area was known as Flinders Park.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area has large areas of native bushland, which can be found in the city centre and along Yakamia Creek. Most of the residential housing is built around Bayonet Head Road, which runs east to west of the suburb. It houses several reserves, including the Bayonet Head Lookout, which overlooks Oyster Harbour and has picnic facilities.

There is one primary school in the area called Flinders Park Primary. There are no high schools within the area, but residents have their choice of schools in the nearby towns of Spencer Park, Kalgan River and in Albany.
