Baldivis is a rural suburb in Western Australia with a population of over 15,800. It is 46 kilometres south of Perth’s central business 11 kilometres south-east of the area of Rockingham.

History

The name Baldivis comes from three ships that travelled to Western Australia in 1922. These ships were called Balranald, Diogenes and Jervis Bay.

Lots of the road names in Baldivis were named by the people involved with the Group Settlement Scheme. The area is mainly built up of houses and the first housing estate to be developed was Settlers Hills.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Baldivis town centre has a main shopping facility including a food court and restaurant precinct. There are currently nine schools in the area with more expected to open in the future.

The suburb is also home to a library, community centre, bike pump park, children’s forest and various sporting grounds.
