History

There was once a lagoon that separated Port Melbourne from Albert Park next to it. However, over time this was filled in and it no longer exists. It is now the site of a public park called the Lagoon Reserve. Before cheap air travel existed, many immigrants would reach Australia by coming to Port Melbourne.
