Edithvale has one train station that lies on the Frankston line. A Route 902 and Route 706 SmartBus services the area.

The suburb is popular with beach lovers. In fact, its beach is famous for its dazzling white site and iconic bathing boxes. The Kingston Boatshed Associate has been set up to protect these structures.

Locals can also go fishing. Flathead and Garfish are the most common fish in the area. Dolphins are often seen close to the shore and in 2017, locals spotted a shark.
