History

Before the 1900s, Donvale was a fruit-growing area. The area was a postal district from 1926. The Donvale Post Office opened in 1929 and closed in 1972. The building is now home to the Donvale Historical Society.

The name Donvale is a combination of Doncaster and Springvale.

Donvale has eight schools. These include Donvale Primary School, Heatherwood School, and Whitefriars College.
