Delacombe is a growing suburb of Victoria with a population of around 4,900. It is situated south-west of Ballarat and has lots of open green spaces.

History

The town is named after Sir Rohan Delacombe. He was the Governor of Victoria in 1965. Delacombe was once part of the Ballarat West area. The first building in the suburb was a factory that produced guncotton for World War I.

Homes were flooded in Delacombe during the 2011 Victorian floods.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Delacombe has many homes and businesses situated on the main streets. There are two schools in the area including Lumen Christi Catholic School and Delacombe Primary School.

The nearest railway station is Wendouree. That means that the town depends on private transport to get around. However, there is a bus service in Delacombe. You can find lots of green land in the town, as well as the Delacombe Sports Centre.
