Campbellfield is a residential suburb in Melbourne, Victoria. It’s located 16km north of Melbourne’s central business district and has a population of 5,467.

History

The area is home to Victoria’s oldest church in East Broadmeadows. The Scots Church was built on Sydney Road in 1842, before it was replaced by the current blue stone structure in 1855. It was placed on the National Estate and Victorian Heritage Register.

The suburb was home to Ford Australia’s Broadmeadows Assembly factory. It was built in 1959 and made the company’s Falcon and Territory models. It closed in 2016, resulting in 650 job losses.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area has several business and industrial sections. There is one public primary school, but no high school.

There is a small shopping plaza on Sydney Road, which as a supermarket, discount store and stationery store.
