George Catanach created the Catanach's Jewellers brand over 140 years ago and his motto "quality and beauty must go hand in hand when crafting a piece of fine jewellery" is upheld today. Amanda and David Catanach represent the fifth generation of the family to carry on George as vision of Catanach's Fine Jewellery Collection.

Catanach's are established providers of fine diamonds of all cuts and colours. The gentle sparkle of the old-cut diamond to the dazzle of modern brilliant cut diamond & the enormous variety of fancy-cut diamonds are all featured in Catanach's Collection.

Coloured Stones

Catanach's have connections all around the world and source the highest quality of coloured stones. Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds, Aquamarines Tourmalines, Peridots and many more precious coloured stones.

Catanach's Jewellers is proud to be associated with the Caulfield Cup Carnival, both as a sponsor, and as the maker of the Caulfield Cup. The cup was made from 9ct Yellow Gold, and all components were made in Victoria. Plinth and case were made from Australian Jarrah.

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers offer a repair and replating service for all your silverware items. Due to a high demand for this service completion of repairs can take up to a month.

  • Do Catanach's Jewellers offer an engraving service?

    Yes Catanach's Jewellers use a specialist engraver who hand engraves and also offers pantograph engraving. All work from complicated family crests and seals to simple messages inside wedding bands is done. Due to demand the completion time for engraving is usually ten days.

  • Are valuations of jewellery and silverware done on the premises?

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers are in the unique position of having four NCJV registered valuers on staff. There are only one hundred NCJV registered valuers in Victoria. All valuations are done in house and you have the security of your items being protected by our insurance cover while with us.

  • Do Catanach's Jewellers assist clients with insurance claims for lost or damaged jewellery?

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers staffs are trained to assist you in compiling details of your lost or stolen items. A written estimate of the value of your loss may then be sent to your insurers.

  • Are jewellery repairs done on the premises?

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers have two expert jewellers working on site in our recently modernised workshop and with some exceptions all work is done in house. Diamond setting, gemstone faceting and polishing and CAD work is done externally.

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers have long specialised in designing engagement rings and wedding bands. Our range of handmade rings is extensive and features fabulous diamonds, sapphires of every colour, rubies, emeralds, aquamarines, tourmalines and many more precious gemstones.

  • Do Catanach's Jewellers offer a bespoke jewellery service?

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers have qualified jewellery designers on staff and can create a piece of jewellery to your specifications or design a piece for you. We can remodel an existing piece or use components of your tired jewellery items to create an entirely new piece.

  • Will Catanach's Jewellers source loose gemstones for customers?

    Yes, we are happy to find the perfect gem for you and will by appointment arrange viewing of select gems.

  • Do Catanach's Jewellers offer a wide selection of pearls?

    Yes not only do we have the finest South Sea pearls but also Japanese cultured pearls. We have a large selection of loose pearls and can match your existing pearls to extend a strand or replace damaged pearls in older strands.

  • Do Catanach's Jewellers organise delivery of purchases and repairs?

    Yes, Catanach's Jewellers will for a small additional charge and by arrangement with you send items either by courier or post.
