Warramboo is a small suburb in South Australia with a population of about 250. It is situated 334 kilometres north-west of Adelaide and 26 kilometres south-east of Wudinna.
History
The area of Warramboo saw its first railway line in 1915. It was built to help the development of the cereal industry on the Peninsula. The grain building is still standing and remains a landmark of the town.
During early European settlement, a public school was built in Warramboo. It opened in 1920 and closed in 2002. The town hall was built in the 1920s. It was replaced with a stone building in 1934.
Lifestyle and Entertainment
Warramboo is a very quiet town without much on the doorstep. There are no shops of petrol stations within the area. However, there is a post office.
The town is home to an Australian rules football team. It is called the Central Eyre Football Club. They are one of six teams that play in the Mid West Football League.
