History
People first settled in the area in the late 1800s. At this time, the land was mostly used for agriculture. After World War Two, new buildings were built in Paralowie and development reached a peak from the 1980s to the mid-1990s.
Lifestyle and Entertainment
Paralowie contains two State Heritage Places from the South Australian Heritage Register. The first is Settler’s Court. This is a typically large property from the time before the area was developed. The second is the Paralowie House and Grounds. This was built in the late 19th Century and has been very well looked after. A youth homelessness project now runs from here. The Burton Primitive Methodist Cemetery is also in Paralowie, and is historically significant.
