Parafield is a non-residential suburb of Adelaide. It’s located 18km north of the central business district. According to the 2014 census, it has a population of 80 people.

History

Parafield Post Office opened in 1946. It was renamed Parafield Airport in 1965, before it closed in 1986.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The suburb is directly next door to Parafield Airport. There is no housing in the area. There are airport-related businesses in the terminal and hangar area of the airport. There is a commercial area in the corner of Kings and Main North Roads.

It is bordered by Main Road North to the east and Kings Road to the north. The Gawler railway line is located to the west, where it is served by Parafield station. Mawson Lakes and Elder Smith drive are to the south, at the boundary of the airport.
