History

Established in 1857, the suburb of Modbury was named by R.S. Kelly in September after his hometown of Modbury in Devonshire, England.

Modbury lies at the end of the Adelaide O-Bahn Busway. This guided busway is part of the bus rapid transit system that services the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide.

Modbury is home to the Tea Tree Plaza shopping complex as well as Modbury Hospital.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The suburb has two schools, Modbury High School and Modbury West primary school.

Modbury also has a lot of sporting teams. These include the Modbury Hawks (an Australian rules football team), the Modbury Jets soccer team, Modbury Tennis Club, and Modbury Bowling Club.

Civic Park, located close to Tea Tree Plaza, is a popular place for summer activities.
