History

The area was first inhabited by the Kaurna people, though their culture largely vanished after the arrival of European settlers. One of the first settlers in the region was Lambert Christie, who lent his name to the suburb. For a long time, the area was mainly farmland. Urban planning started in the 1950s, and the suburb has grown steadily since.
