Located in the Adelaide Hills area, Aberfoyle Park has one of the largest public schools in the state of South Australia. The suburb gains its name from a reference to an area in Perthshire Scotland. It has a population of over 11,000 people.

History

The earliest record of European settlement dates back to 1845 when a German named Christian Sauerbier purchased land in the area for farming. The region gained the status of a suburb on July 10th 1980 and the Post Office opened there in 1981.
The main economy of Aberfoyle Park was farming which eventually gave way to urban development and the expansion of the area.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Aberfoyle Park is home to a shopping mall known as “The Hub” and there are several schools in the area too. Happy Valley Sports Park is the home to the local football, cricket, and tennis clubs. The area has good transport links including buses and road links to the city centre.

The suburb provides a pleasant residential community for people who work in the city due to it being only 20km from the central business district.
