Upper Mt Gravatt is a major suburb of Brisbane 12km south-east of the central business district. It’s considered a smaller central business district in its own right, and has a diverse population of over 8,800.

History

Once part of old Mt Gravatt, Upper Mt Gravatt was created when this locality split into four separate suburbs. The other three are Mt Gravatt, Mt Gravatt East and Wishart, which was formerly known as Mt Gravatt South.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Upper Mt Gravatt is a bustling suburb with plenty to see and do. Its reputation as a CBD stems from the important facilities based here; including a police station and regional tax office. The Westfield Garden City shopping centre is one of Brisbane’s best, and serves as a popular hub for the south of the city. There are plenty of great restaurants in Upper Mt Gravatt, and The Mt Gravatt Vultures semi-pro football team is another big draw.
