History
It may be small, but Towers Hill is deeply entwined in the history of Charter Towers. This was where gold was first discovered in the area, which laid the foundations of the township. The gold was famously stumbled upon by an Aboriginal boy named Jupiter on Christmas Eve, 1871.
Lifestyle and Entertainment
Towers Hill features several Heritage-listed mining sites. The mining works on Towers Hill includes four separate ruins, and the Charters Towers mine shafts can still be seen to this day.
