History
Since the mid-1850s, European settlers farmed the area. In the 1870s, the area grew and introduced a hotel and stores. In 1884, Pialba opened a government school. Four years later, the area gained a church.
The suburb was originally called Polson. In 1931, the name formally changed to Pialba.
