History

The Noosa area was first settled by Europeans in the 1870s, and Noosaville was once known as Gympie Terrace. It’s one of several towns that evolved together with the onset of tourism.

A friendly coastal retreat, Noosaville welcomes visitors all year round. It boasts many lush dining options, especially on Thomas Street and Gympie Terrace. Restaurants serve cuisine from across the world, but seafood is definitely the local speciality. There are plenty of boutique shops to browse, as well as plushy hotels.

Noosa River is a huge draw, as it’s perfect for boating, swimming and fishing. Noosaville is surrounded by lush parklands with great walking routes and picnic spots. The Heritage-listed Noosa River Caravan Park is also nearby.
