Morningside lies just 5km east of Brisbane’s central business district. It is a popular residential suburb with a population of 9,400 people.

History

The first Europeans arrived in the area now known as Morningside in the 1870s. They primarily used the land to raise cows and to grow tobacco and sugarcane. In the post-war years, the area became increasingly popular. Schools, theatres, and shopping centres were built, making Morningside a very attractive place for young families to live in.

Morningside’s quiet streets are lined with modern semi-detached houses and charming, old weatherboard homes. The suburb is home to lots of green parks and plenty of good supermarkets, restaurants, gyms and shopping opportunities such as the Morningside Plaza. You can reach the airport within 15 minutes and the roads offer easy access to the surrounding areas including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
