Molendinar is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast. It is roughly 9km from Gold Coast’s central area. As of the 2011 census, the suburb’s population was 6,213.

History

Molendinar is a relatively new suburb in the Gold Coast. The area was initially developed as part of the state government’s project in 1969. Until 2003, Molendinar included the locality of Ernest.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Molendinar has plenty of local parks for residents to enjoy. Bicentennial Park and Kingsway Reserve are great places to visit on the weekend, along with Silver Bridle Park. Bunnings Warehouse, an auto store and homewares store are also within the bounds of Molendinar, as is a local supermarket. The Griffith University Gold Coast campus is right on the border of the suburb, and the beaches of Southport and Broadbeach are a short drive away.
