History

Inala sprang up during the post-war housing shortage. A group of ex-serviceman purchased 480 hectares of land in the area. Each member was given 800 square metres.

In 1949, the Brisbane Housing Commission purchased the land. They soon changed its name to Inala. Famous Australian architects Robin Boyd, Roy Grounds, and Harry Seidler planned houses.

Inala is a vibrant suburb with several shopping areas. It has a large population, featuring more than 20 cultures. Each year, the suburb holds a Multicultural Fiesta. People visit for the Lunar New Year celebrations.

A wide variety of restaurants represents many cuisines. Services include post offices, medical centres, supermarkets, and a gym.
