The suburb of Daisy Hill is in Logan City in South East Queensland. It has a population of 6,200 people.

History

The town was named by the first Europeans to settle there. The Dennis family owned 800 acres in the area which they called Daisy Hill because their daughters saw daisies there.

Another pioneering group in the area was the Usher family. They grew grapes in the fertile soil here, which was then made into wine and sold.

Other industries employed in the town and nearby Daisy Hill State Forest included timber felling, honey making, gold-mining and livestock grazing.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The town has a number of heritage buildings today reflecting its past. One of them is the Old St Mark’s Anglican Church that dates back to 1901.

Much of Daisy Hill is part of the Daisy Hill Conservation Park today. It is used for conservation and leisure activities including mountain biking.
