We are an open plan doggy salon and we have no problems with you watching us wash or groom your dog. We are cage free.
As an avid animal lover, I could think of no better way to spend my days than pampering the fur babies of the Gold Coast. The same with all groomers that work at New York Dog Wash, they all love what they do and do it with love. We understand that dogs are part of the family too and we look forward to having the opportunity of sharing our love of dogs and expertise in dog grooming with you. Tammy
Be it a wash you are after for your dog, also known as "The New York Dog Wash" or an all over clipping, aka "The Manhattan Makeover", you have found the right place, and right here on the Gold Coast. We understand how much your furry friends mean to you, as we feel the same way about ours. Therefore, we're doing things a bit differently. New York Dog Wash welcomes "walk-ins" for washes. We don't believe in cages, our doggy holding areas are open plan with lots of fun toys and friends to play.
Free doggy daycare with any groom!
You'll receive a text message as soon as your pooch has finished being groomed so you know it's ready for pick up or you can leave it with us so it can play with its new friends. All dogs are most welcome to stay for the day (daycare) if having a groom and play. Daycare hours operate the same as opening hours.

Do you clip and groom all breeds and sizes of dogs?
Yes, we do. No dog is too big or small. We clip and groom them all to your specifications.

Do you keep the dogs in cages?
No. All our clients (dogs) are kept in playpens with toys, fresh water and other dogs to play with. It's like a doggy day care centre!

How long do you need my dog?
Dependant on the service being done, it could be 10 minutes or an hour and a half. If you don't want your dog left for any longer than the groom, please advise us upon booking and we will give your dog its own time slot. Also, if you need to pick your dog up by a certain time, please advise us upon booking.

How do I know when to pick up my dog?
You will receive a text message the moment your dog's groom is complete. But no rush, as you have until close of business to do so.

Can I watch my dog being groomed?
Yes, you can. We have nothing to hide. But please understand that some dogs play up when they're master is around as they just want to get to you. This can make them difficult to groom, if this is the case we would suggest you come back when they're done.

Will my dog get cold in winter being bathed?
No. We use warm water in winter and then a warm blow dryer to dry your dog immediately after its bath.

My dog doesn't like being with other dogs and prefers to be alone, can you cater for this?
Of course! We have a couple of little playpens for dogs that prefer their own company.

Do you sedate dogs for grooming?
No, we don't. If you know your dog has aggression issues, we would recommend taking them to a groomer associated with a vet clinic so sedation can be administered prior to their groom.

Will my dog be kept with big dogs or aggressive dogs?
We keep large and small dogs in separate play areas; also if we have a dog with behavioural issues, they will be kept on their own.

What age should I start my dog being groomed?
ASAP! The sooner the better, even if it's just for a bath, it is important to get your dog used to a being groomed.
