Dr Steven Kypraios is a leading local expert in his field of clinical & interventional cardiology & the Practice offers a comprehensive range of clinical services to look after your heart, including office consultations, in- patient care at Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, diagnostic testing & interventional therapies for cardiac conditions. He is the inaugural director of the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories at Sunshine Coast Private. He is available for & welcomes new referrals.
At Sunshine Coast Cardiology we have created a first class professional specialist practice environment, and we employ an excellent group of talented clerical, transcription & technical staff to enhance and extend the service you expect from your private cardiology specialist practice.
Dr Kypraios participates in the general & interventional cardiology on call system at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital; including the Heart Centre direct referral service, which operates 24 hours, 7 days.

You will need a referral letter from your GP or referring specialist for your first visit to our Practice, in order to obtain your Medicare rebate. This letter will be valid for 3 to 12 months depending on who referred you to our practice. After your first visit, our receptionists will remind you if you need an updated referral letter.
Yes. As a courtesy, we are glad to help you with return transport to the Practice by booking your taxi (at your cost) or DVA transport, prior to your appointment, at your request.
If this is your first visit to the Practice, please arrive at least 15 minutes early, to allow us to register you. If you are attending for a follow up visit, please arrive on time.
Yes. An important part of your medical treatment involves clinical review visits, during which your specialist will have the opportunity to discuss your test results with you and answer any questions you may have, as well as any continuing care you may need.
The fee for consultations and testing varies depending on the service involved. You will be able to claim most of your consultation fee from medicare. Our reception staff will be glad to fully inform you of the cost of services prior to your visit. All accounts with the Practice are settled on the day of the consultation.
DVA Veterans who are covered for cardiac conditions are not charged out of pocket for services provided in hospital or in the practice rooms.
We accept cash, cheques, EFTPOS, direct debit & deposit or credit cards such as Visa & Mastercard.

Yes. We call all our expected patients the day prior to their visit to confirm their appointments.
