Brisbane Airport is a suburb in Brisbane, 14km northeast of the CBD. Most of the suburb is taken up by Brisbane Airport. It has a population of over 4,000.

History

The area, now the suburb of Brisbane Airport, was originally part of the suburbs of Pinkenba and Eagle Farm.

It was set up in 2011 by the Queensland Minister for Finance, Natural Resources, and the Arts, Rachel Nolan. She published an official notice amending the boundaries of Pinkenba, Hamilton, and Eagle Farm. This established the new suburb of Brisbane Airport.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Brisbane Airport is home to an international airport that serves Brisbane and South East Queensland. It is the third busiest in the country.

The suburb is also home to the Skygate Airport Village that is designated for retail and commercial use. It includes a GP Clinic, the retail factory outlet DFO, and a Novotel airport hotel.
