History

The town is named after Henry Bohle, who brought farming to the area in 1863 when he brought his cattle. The Bohle River and the parish are also named after him. The Bohle Rivers flows into Halifax Bay in the north. In 2009 a 5,500 hectare area of state land was reserved so it can be turned into a national park.

Bohle Plains is set in a lush area with many parks and green spaces. The stunning Bohle River runs through it, allowing for some scenic walking routes. Recent projects have given the area more housing and a recreational centre with multiple facilities.
