Bald Hills is a mostly residential suburb to the north of the city of Brisbane. It has a population of just under 6,000 people.

History

Bald Hills is mainly surrounded by bushland, and it was named after two hills in the South Pine River Valley. Sales of land in the area date back to the 1850s, and the town’s school was established in 1866.

The town’s railway station opened in the late 1880s and the rail links brought the small town closer to the city of Brisbane.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The town continues to grow and prosper today. New areas of bushland have recently been cleared to make way for new housing.
There are two schools in the suburb, as well as good transport links to the north, and into Brisbane.

The Blind Association of Queensland also has its breeding and training centre for guide dogs in the town.
