History

The Turrbal people lived in the area now known as Alderley for thousands of years. The town’s current name is shared with the Alderley in Cheshire, England. It has one of the older post offices in the area, arriving 21 years before the rail line arrived in 1899. Trams even operated from Brisbane in the middle of the 20th century.
