History

Albany Creek is located at the point where two indigenous Australian tracks cross each other. One of these, called Old Northern Road, was the main route to the north of Brisbane. The suburb was originally called Chinaman’s Creek, but in 1888 it changed its name.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Albany Creek has a number of well-known residents past and present. These include pop singers The Veronicas, super rugby union player Scott Daruda and screenwriter Anthony Morris.

Residents of Albany Creek are well catered for with three shopping centres, a library and a municipal pool. It is part of the Brisbane Transport bus network, but it has no train station of its own.
