Wattle Grove is a small, residential town located 30km south-west of Sydney. It is home to a population of around 8,000 people.

History

Wattle Grove is a relatively new suburb established as recently as 1990. Prior to this, the land was owned by the Australian Defence Force. Original planning for a new suburb began in the 1970s with basic infrastructure put in place but no further development happened until the 90s.

In 1992, the previously chosen name ‘Holsworthy Village’ was discarded and the new suburb was opened as Wattle Grove.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

For such a new town, Wattle Grove has the feeling of a tight-knit community and many people live happily amongst its beautiful tree-lined streets.

The town has a busy shopping centre which was redeveloped in 2007 and a number of parks and reserves, including the Anzac Creek and Wattle Grove Lake.
