Temora has the reputation of being the friendliest town in NSW. It lies 418 kilometres south-west of Sydney and has a population of 3,900 people.
History
Temora’s history begins in 1847 when it was a pastoral station. Soon afterwards gold was discovered in the area and many prospectors settled here. In the 1880s the Temora fields were among the most productive in all of NSW. By 1911, the gold rush was over and Temora got quieter again. But things are far from boring in the lively, little town.

Temora is a friendly and welcoming place with lots of things to do. Visit Australia’s last two flying Spitfires at the Aviation Museum or learn more about the town’s history at the Bundawarrah Centre. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy sailing, canoeing or swimming at Lake Centenary. The lake is also a great place for relaxing picnics.
