About Customs House Hotel
Customs House Hotel serves Mediterranean-inspired food in a relaxed and buzzing European style setting.
Great emphasis is placed on the simplicity of fresh quality produce, with the menu changing seasonally.
All ingredients are sourced by Head Chef Chris Coolahan from the region’s best local suppliers. With the choice of either an a la carte or more casual snack menu, dining at Customs is perfect for any occasion.
Customs House Hotel’s extensive wine list features a great choice of local Hunter Valley, Australian and international wines from both current and older vintages.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Mondays – Saturdays and lunch on Sundays. On Sunday nights, the snack menu is available until 8pm.
Customs House Hotel is now one of Newcastle’s most exciting eating and drinking venues incorporating a ground floor restaurant and bar, an outdoor beer garden and upstairs function rooms.
What once housed Australian Customs offices, Customs House Hotel is a heritage listed building designed in the Italianate Renaissance Revival Style by New South Wales Colonial Architect James Barnet in 1877.
