History

Robert Copland Lethbridge settled at Werrington close by, in 1806. Harriet Lethbridge settled on Dunheved Estate. The Lethbridge family married into the district’s other pioneer family, the Kings.

As such, since the Lethbridge family has significant political and historic significance to the area, the suburb is as is.

The infamous Roy Courlander, a British Fascist and a part of the British Free Corps SS Unit is from the area.
