Lalor Park is a Sydney suburb based 35km west of the city’s central business district. It falls under the local government area of Blacktown, and counts as part of the Greater Western Sydney region. Lalor Park has a population of over 7,000.

History

Named after the Lalor family, who owned a great deal of property here, Lalor was first settled for use as farmland. It used to be called Seven Hills West, only gaining its current name in 1959. Heavy development began around this time, transforming Lalor Park in the largely residential area it is today.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Lalor Park features a well-equipped commercial hub on Northcott Road and Freeman Street. This is made up of around thirty stores, including a pharmacy, deli, bakery and IGA supermarket. The suburb also boasts several parks, such as Chifley Park, Ashley Browne Reserve and Cavanagh Reserve. The Lalor Park Hotel is located in Blacktown, just over the suburb’s border.
