This village in the Southern Highlands of NSW has also been known as Hilltop and Jellore. It has a population of just 2,500 people.

History

The town used to be serviced by the Main Southern Railway Line. In 1919 the line was moved to a shallower incline but Hill Top Station’s platform can still be seen.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Today in Hill Top residents can take advantage of a large number of facilities. The town has a bakery, chemist, real estate agent, Doctor’s surgery, and general store. It also has its own church and community hall, as well as a post office, tennis courts, school, and fire station.

Hill Top is the home of the Southern Highlands Rifle Club. The club attempted to expand its shooting area in 2007 and met with strong opposition.

Other sporting activities available include cricket and soccer.
