In the state of New South Wales, you’ll find the suburb of Greenacre. It’s situated 17 kilometres south-west of Sydney’s central business district and has a population of over 23,000.

History

The area of Greenacre was once called East Bankstown. Many years ago, a road was built right through the suburb and the surrounding land was known as Green Acre. That’s where the town gets its name from.

In the early 1900’s, Greenacre Park Estate was established.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Greenacre is a peaceful suburb with lots of parks and shopping centres. It also has a variety of churches and high-ranking schools.

While there isn’t a railway station in Greenacre, the suburb has many sports teams including soccer, rugby and bowls. You can find a public library, community centre and youth centre in the area too.
