Erskine Park is a suburb of Sydney. It is mostly residential and 42 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. It has a population of about 6,700 and is in the City of Penrith.

History

Erskine Park was named after James Erskine, Lieutenant Governor to Lachlan Macquarie. Erskine was granted land in this area in the colony’s early days. The local school is named in his honour. The suburb was established in 1981.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The local shopping centre has a supermarket, hairdressers, newsagent, butcher, bakery, pharmacy, a family pizza restaurant named Gottie’s and an Aldi.

The Erskine Business Park is on the suburb’s southern outskirts. This is an industrial park. There is a large park located near the industrial area along the main road. There is a footpath that accommodates pedestrians and bike riders and there is a basketball/netball court.
